Memorial Hall (Kansas City, Kansas)

The Kansas City Memorial Hall is a 3,500-seat indoor arena/auditorium located in Kansas City, Kansas. The auditorium, which has a permanent stage, is used for public assemblies, concerts and sporting events.

Many famous rock bands and musicians have performed at the venue, including Led Zeppelin, AC/DC (10 Aug. 1977), Black Sabbath, Bob Dylan, Journey, Styx, Slayer, U2, R.E.M., Coldplay, the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, Kid Rock, and Phish.

Country music legend Patsy Cline performed her last concert at Memorial Hall on March 3, 1963; two days before her death in an airplane crash in Tennessee.

Kansas Speedway

Kansas Speedway is an auto racetrack in Kansas City, Kansas, adjacent to the Village West area. The speedway, which is used by the NASCAR Sprint Cup series and the Indy Racing League, is a 1.5 miles (2.4 km) tri-oval with 15-degree banking in the turns, and is considered in some areas to be the sister track to Chicagoland Speedway, which was built around the same time and also owned by ISC. The track held its first race on June 2, 2001, when the Winston West series contested the Kansas 100. The top-level NASCAR Sprint Cup series holds the annual Camping World RV 400 at the track. In 2004, Joe Nemechek became the first driver to complete the double at Kansas Speedway by winning both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series races in one weekend.

Kansas City T-Bones

The Kansas City T-Bones are a professional baseball team that moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 2003. The T-Bones are a member of the Northern League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball. From the 2003 season to the present, the T-Bones have played their home games at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, located adjacent to the Village West development in western Wyandotte County, Kansas. They are the current (2008) Northern League champions.
